We have our first butterfly - she hatched sometime during the night. We'll be watching closely today to see if we can catch one in the process of hatching.
Today is Andrew's third birthday, we bummed around the house in the morning and played with his new toys, and some old favorites.
Then in the afternoon we were off to the Children's Museum. It was my first time taking them there by myself, I was a bit nervous that I'd lose one of them, but it went really well. They got to play in every exhibit except for one, we ran out of time and the museum closed before we could get to it. There's always next time though!
We had AJ's kindergarten open house last night, he got to meet his teacher and check out his classroom. It was all really neat, his teacher does a lot with Spanish immersion, and uses a ton of visual aids - there were about 100 puppets and funny hats in the room.
We checked out the music room, and the library. The PE teacher wasn't there that night.
No pictures, no one else was taking them and I didn't want to be weird.
They also had a barbecue out on the basketball pad, after AJ ate some hot dogs and chips he played on the playground for awhile.
He's so excited to start school, less than a week to go!
Andrew had an allergy appointment today, and the results weren't great, but I really, really like the new allergist we saw. Hopefully we can see him from now on.
We re-tested him for eggs, soy, and peanuts - and he still reacted to all three.
His peanut reaction got worse, much worse than last time. It was about 7 centimeters in diameter, with small welts, while last time it was smaller with one big welt.
The egg and soy reactions were less than last time, but still enough that we are going to avoid them for another year and re-test again at that time.
His skin is looking much better, and since our kitty went to live with my parents his eyes and nose are 100% clear, so that's definitely an improvement from where we were at a year ago.
It was kind of scary seeing that peanut reaction, it concerns me that it got worse. We're lucky his preschool is supportive of being peanut free. There's no way we can expect them to be soy-free, it's just in too much stuff, so we'll provide his snack every day.

Today we met up with a group of my friends at the Seattle Center. There was a big fountain there that we were completely unprepared for. We didn't know that the kids could go in it, so we didn't bring extra clothes or towels or anything. That didn't stop the kids from going in though - nor did the fact that it was like 60 degrees outside.
