Visit to Grandmas

My mom wanted to see the boys before she left for Oregon earlier this week, and also she finished a quilt that she's been working on for Andrew, so we headed up for a visit.

The boys had fun blowing bubbles and playing with their cat.

Andrew rubbed his face all over my shirt awhile after I'd picked Jax up and pet him, and got all puffy and red so we had to leave to get him home to his allergy medicine - I need to get that back in my purse!

He fell asleep on the way home and was just fine. I hope he outgrows this allergy soon, he loves animals so much and it's so sad to see him get so sick after being around them.

Catching frogs

Today we went to my parents house to catch frogs in their pond and visit our cat (and see my parents too!).

It was super muggy out and just miserable, but the kids still had a good time. Andrew threw sticks in the pond, AJ fished them out. I caught frogs, AJ just looked at them, Andrew picked them up and threw them back in the pond. Good times.

Jax is sure getting big. I really miss having him at our house, but we are really lucky that my parents wanted him and live so close, so we still get to visit often.

Rainy day gardening

Today was a rainy day, so my mom came over to plant some flowers with the boys. We decided the kitchen was the safest spot, excuse all the apple boxes stacked up in one corner and the misc pile in another corner, the kitchen has fallen victim to my purging spree and I'm still right in the middle of getting together all my donation items. I'm hoping to be done with that project by the end of the month, it's taking longer than I expected - where did all this crap come from????

Anyhow, pictures of the boys planting their "gardens". We should have flowers in about a week.

Putting fish in the pond

My parents had their pond dug out to be bigger last fall, and they've been planting things in and around it, and decided to put fish in as well.

The boys and I picked up 250 goldfish from the local pet store after our park playdate, and took them over to let them free into the pond.

This is some kind of grosbeak that landed on my parents' deck while we were there.

This is a pawprint we found in the mud, possibly a possum or baby raccoon. We found a much bigger print nearby that was definitely raccon, but my camera batteries chose that minute to die, so no pictures :(
