Sunday was the wedding. It was a gorgeous day, and everything seemed to go on without a hitch. There was a wedding crasher, who only got caught because he tried to sneak off with 2 bottles of alcohol and a wine glass. It was really funny, my memory card was full so I didn't get any pictures of that bit of excitement.
The cake was super cool.

Moonstone beach - and surfing!
Friday we went to Moonstone beach to surf and play in the sand.
Corey took a few photos of his mom and sister and I attempting to surf, but he had his hands full with the boys, so they aren't really that great.
The boys had fun staying on the beach and playing in the sand.

The highlight of the trip for AJ
turned out to be the hotel pool. At first he would only stay in the shallow end, refusing to get his face wet or even be carried any deeper. By the end of the trip he was paddling all over the pool in his life jacket and plugging his nose to blow bubbles under water.
Andrew liked it a bit too, but he had to be in the right mood. He refused to wear swimming shorts, he'd get in the pool and say "my pants is wet" and freak out until we took them off, so the next shots contain some bare baby butt.
Andrew really preferred to snuggle in a towel and watch AJ play.

Finally, the ocean
The entire trip down, and for over a week before we left actually, all AJ could talk about was the beach. So as soon as we arrived in Eureka, to the beach we went.

The longest 14 hours ever
Thursday morning at 1 am we left to drive to Eureka, California. We pulled in to the hotel around 3 pm. We made several stops along the way to try to break up the trip a bit.
We also had our nieces with us, it was their mother's wedding we were headed to and she'd gone down early to deal with wedding preparations. Ashley is 11 and Amber is 8.
AJ fell asleep almost instantly, that's just what he does.
We stopped to visit my grandparents in Creswell, Oregon around 6:30 AM, but I was too groggy to remember to take pictures.
A few hours later we hit the coast, what we could see of it was gorgeous.
We stopped for a bit in the redwoods, there was a tourist attraction featuring gigantic wooden statues of Paul Bunyan and his ox, Blue. The kids loved it, because Paul Bunyan talked, they had a good time trying to figure out how he could hear them (there was a door in the back of his boot, I assume there is a ladder inside for an employee to climb up and "be" Paul from the inside).
Rare picture of Andrew sleeping. He was so good on the trip, but he really didn't sleep all that much.
